Order Information

All ceramic products on this website are microwave and dishwasher safe unless noted in the descriptions. We also never use lead in any of our glazes. Everything is handmade by one person in porcelain and stoneware. The dinnerware and cups are all dinnerware safe, in fact they may make your food even tastier, but this hasn't been scientifically proven.

Please note, due to the handmade quality of our wares, there will likely be slight variations in color and style from the picture.

Do you ever do custom pieces/colors/variations?

Some of the pieces are one of a kind or in a limited edition whose time has passed. However, contact us if there is a one of a kind item that is out of stock that you might not be able to survive without. With a certain amount of pleading, we may be able to make more. We can also be persuaded to make items in other colors and are also open to custom orders but only if asked nicely.

Order Processing

Each product is handmade by one little ceramics artist in Oakland, California, so there may be unforseen delays in shipping. We will make every attempt possible to ship products out in a timely manner. However, if we find we are out of stock and have to make some more of the item that you have ordered, we will email you to let you know about the delay.

Why does it take so long to ship out an out-of-stock item?

Ceramics is a very long process and for one piece, we:

  • Create the piece in clay by hand-building, slipcasting or by throwing on the wheel.
  • Screen-print images on the clay (that have previously been designed in Illustrator)
  • Wait for it to dry so it doesn't explode or crack in the kiln (which could be a week or more in wet weather)
  • Fire the kiln the first time (which takes about three days because it needs to cool from 1915 degrees fareinheit slowly)
  • Re-touch the underglaze and spray clear glaze on it,
  • Put it back in the kiln for two days
  • Dremmel the bottom for touch ups and voila finally one piece!

So, expect if we are out of an item in stock it could take up to four weeks to create a new one.

Shipping Information

Ezme Designs will ship out your purchases through USPS via priority mail and expect a two to three day shipping time unless otherwise requested. We also will not insure your package unless you email us and request this additional service at the added cost. Due to the nature of ceramics, we have to over-package our shipments so things do not break. Ezme Designs is as concerned about the environment as everyone else should be, so we try to re-use packaging materials whenever we can. We hope that you will also re-use or recycle all of our packaging too!

How do you calculate shipping costs?

Shipping costs are calculated based upon the dollar amount spent on the pieces purchased from Ezme Designs and roughly correlate with the weight of the pieces.

Do you ship worldwide?

We would love to send Ezme items to Australia, Europe, Timbuktu or any other overseas location. Please contact us to arrange for shipping your items overseas via email. We will calculate the postage and let you know the shipping rate right away.

Returns and Exchanges

We hope that you will be satisfied for many years to come with your Ezme purchase, but if you are unhappy, we will accept returns and exchanges within thirty days. However, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost.

What happens if my piece breaks in the mail?

We try to package your Ezme purchases so that they will survive the trip from our studio to your house. However, we have seen our share of exploded box mail disasters. If this happens to you, please email us right away.
